Dear Neha,
Hi, How have you been? I hope you and everyone in your family is doing great. I am writing this letter to tell you about my experience of the Kite festival this year.I got so excited to tell you about it that i could not resist but write this letter.
This year, we happened to be in Jaipur during the time of Makar Sankranti. We were fortunate to attend the Kite festival here. It was a surreal experience. People assembled in an open ground in the most traditional and colourful clothes and everybody had colourful kites with them. The ground was across a lane of houses. All the terraces of the houses were occupied by the residents for flying kites. The sky turned multicoloured, mostly pink and yellow.
People also shared their homemade sweets and snacks specially made for the occasion. I tried flying the kite but could not raise it high due to my inexperience. One very sweet aunty helped me with my kite and laughed at me as I tried to catch up with her instructions. It was a long day but one of the very pleasant one.
I wish you were here as well to witness the colourful celebration. Hope you will join me next year for the same. Write back to me, telling me something about your life in America. I will wait for your letter.
Yours lovingly,
Your name.
Note: In informal letters there is no rigid format of writing the letters. While formal letters are written to the point and in a formal tone, informal letters are lengthier than formal letters and are written in an informal tone.
