FAQs on RS Aggarwal Solutions Class 8 Chapter-17 Construction of Quadrilaterals (Ex 17B) Exercise 17.2
1. Write the different features of a square, rectangle, and a parallelogram.
The different features of a square, rectangle and a parallelogram are given below”
Square: In a square all sides are equal, all angles are equal to 90 degrees, and opposite sides are parallel to each other.
Rectangle: In a rectangle, opposite sides are parallel and equal to each other. All angles in a rectangle are equal to 90 degrees.
Parallelogram: In a parallelogram, opposite sides are equal and parallel to each. In a parallelogram, opposite angles are equal to each other.
2. Write the steps of construction for making a parallelogram in which AB = 5.1 cm, BC = 4.6 cm and AC = 7.5 cm.
Draw a line segment AB = 5.1 cm
Take A as center and radius 7.5 cm draw an arc. Now, again take A as center and radius 4.6 cm draw another arc that cuts the previous arc at C.
Join AC and BC.
Again take A as center and radius 4.6 cm draw an arc, Now take C as center and radius 5.1cm draw another arc that cuts the previous arc at D.
Join AD and CD
3. What is the importance of practicing the previous year’s question papers in class 8?
Whatever grade you are in, preparing with previous year's papers will definitely not let you down. It helps in being energetic and active by planning your time before your actual exams. One can actually start understanding the marking scheme and important questions even before the exams.
4. Write the important features of a rhombus, trapezoid, and kite.
The important features of a rhombus, trapezoid and kite are as follows:
Rhombus: In a rhombus, opposite sides are parallel. All sides of a rhombus are equal. In a rhombus, opposite angles are also equal. The diagonals of a rhombus bisect each other at right angles that are at 90 degrees.
Trapezoid: In a trapezoid, only one pair of opposite sides are parallel to each other.
Kite: In a kite, two pairs of adjacent sides are equal to each other. One pair of opposite sides is also equal in a kite. One diagonal bisects the other and the diagonals of a kite also bisect each other at right angles that are at 90 degrees.
