Detailed Adventure in An Unknown Land Story Summary in English

The story opens with a young child on vacation at Hampi, Karnataka, whose family decided to visit the capital, the kingdom of Vijayanagara, as it is currently in ruins. The child was accompanied by his aunt, uncle, parents and his two cousins, Tarun and Malavika. Since they were all tired and had gone to rest, he and Tarun decided to take a lonely stroll around the area. Initially, they were scared, but they urged themselves on and came to a deserted road, where they spotted a figure ahead.

They soon rushed over and found a man bleeding and unconscious on the side of the empty road. With the help of a water bottle, they sprinkled water on the man, and they learned that he was abused and betrayed by a business partner who may have run away with important things. They got to see the address and went over to the house of the partner and noticed that the door was slightly open.

When they entered, they were shocked to find the house in a destroyed and broken condition, where the windows were smashed, furniture was upturned, and the pictures on the wall were either broken or shattered. They were shocked to find an injured lady beside a battered sofa, and she pointed at the back door. After they had gone through the back door, they saw a man running away carrying a heavy bag.

After ensuring the lady was safely at her home, they went to the police station to tell them what they had witnessed. When they returned to the hotel, they were surprised to see the same man sitting behind the reception counter. They immediately alerted the police of his presence and were able to catch him red-handed. It was soon known that he was part of a group of robbers who rob people after befriending them, stealing priceless idols and selling them to make a living.

After the commotion, they were met with angry parents who were about to give their children an earful but changed their minds after the police had come in to explain the events that had previously taken place and their involvement in it. Since then, Tarun and the child made a silent promise to each other never to wander off alone during the rest of the trip, as they had had enough adventures for one night.

The moral of this story is always to be careful and help others in need, even if the person is somebody you don’t know. Here, the children were mature enough to help the injured man and woman and inform the police immediately after finding the culprit. True, it was quite dangerous for two young children to be involved with harmful people, but they managed to end it well. Likewise, children should also be willing to help during times of crisis or danger.
