The mother crocodile went with her kids to the fox’s burrow. She knocked on the door and said, “Mr Fox. Are you there?” The fox replied. “Yes, Mrs Crocodile. What can I do for you?” 


She said, “I am here with a request. Can you teach my kids wisdom and educate them.” The cunning fox replied, “Sure I can. I will be delighted to take them as my disciples.”

The fox said, “Bring them and leave them to me the next day.” The moment she left, the fox thought, “This is my day. I will eat the juicy baby crocodiles.”


The next day, she came with her kids and left them under the fox’s supervision. When she left, the fox quickly gobbled one and rested the entire day.

The Cunning Fox


The crocodile came back the next day to check on her kids. She asked the fox, “Can I see my kids once?”


The fox was cunning. He showed three of the kids. She showed one of them twice. The mother crocodile left happily. The moment she left, the fox gobbled two of them. Only one kid was left.


The next day she visited again and wanted to see her children. The fox did the same trick. This time, he showed the left baby crocodile four times. The mother crocodile believed him and left.


The fox ate the last one that day and slept.
