The story- The house with the golden windows is written by Stephen. The story was written on 25th February 2010 in the category of Moral Stories.
Once there was a little girl who lived in a small house on a hill. Her house was very simple and poor. She used to play in her small garden. When she grew she was able to see the outer world across her garden fence. One day she noticed a beautiful house up above the high hill- across the valley. The windows of the house were golden- very shiny. After that, she often dreams of living in that house. She wondered how beautiful it would be to live in a house with golden windows! It would be so much better than living in her small poor house.
Although the little girl loved her family and her parents, she used to dream about living in the house with golden windows instead of living in her ordinary small house.
A few years later when she grew up a little and gained permission to go outside her garden fence, she was determined to visit the house with golden windows across the valley. She asked her mother for permission to go outside her garden for a bike ride, but her mother couldn’t agree at first. She put in some effort and managed to get permission from her but only on one condition- she couldn’t go far from her house.
She knew what she exactly wanted to do. She took her bike and headed towards the house with the golden windows on the high hill. She rode her bike to the house and reached the main gate of the house. The little girl was disappointed as she dismounted from her bike. She couldn’t find any golden windows in the house. The windows were very ordinary and plain- even worse than her house’s windows- dirty. The little girl was disappointed to discover that there were no golden windows in the house and she sadly took her bike and remounted on it. As she looked further, she was amazed to see that there was a little house across the valley with a golden window-it was her small house.
The little girl realized that she has been living in her own golden house from the beginning without even realizing that.
