Introduction

This is a touching story of a very poor man and his family. Life was not fortunate for him. He could not arrange food for his family every day. One day, something miraculous happened and he never ran out of food. What did he do? What was the miracle? Was there a blessing from God? Read this interesting story based on karma and find out.

The Poor Man and His Family

There is a village near a deep forest. There lived a very poor man with his four children and wife. He could barely meet both ends and arrange food for her children daily.

The man and his wife were not happy. They always questioned fate and thought about what wrong they did in their previous lives to suffer in this one.

They could not see their children starving but did not ask for help. The man worked hard but was unable to arrange something to eat every day. The children begged for food from their father but he was unable to do so.

The Sage and his Conversation with God

There was a sage who lived in the same village. Everyone knew he talked to God.

The poor man could not bear his dreadful life anymore and went to meet the sage. He said, “Oh, the enlightened one! Can you please ask God why I cannot arrange food for my family daily? I cannot see my children go hungry anymore.”

The sage replied, “I will talk to God and tell you tomorrow.”

The sage went deep into the forest and talked to God. He asked, “God, why this man cannot arrange food for his family?”

God replied, “He has a limited amount of food assigned for his entire life. I have distributed this limited amount of food throughout his long life.”

The sage returned and said the same thing to the poor man. The poor man asked, “Can you please ask God to give me all the food at once?” The sage said, “I will ask God to do the same.”

He then communicated with God and said, “The poor man is pleading to give him all his food at once.” God said, “Ok. I am giving him all his food.”

The next day, the poor man found so much food stacked outside his broken home. He was fascinated and could not believe his eyes. He did not understand what to do.

Good Karma Brings Good Rewards

He decided to call all the poor people in the village and distribute the food. He did not want anyone to starve like his family. Everyone lined up happily and ate his food.

To everyone’s surprise, the food is not getting finished but rather increasing in volume every day. The sage was stunned. He asked God, “What is happening? God, please explain to your humble disciple.”

God explained, “The poor man is hungry but honest. He asked for his part of the food. He then decided to feed the starving people in the village even though his family is starving. The people are blessing him - May the good man not run out of food. All the blessings are answered. His food will increase with his karma.”
