It was a hot summer day. In pursuit of water, a thirsty crow flew into a village. The crow swooped down on the buildings, farms, and trees below. However, he was unable to find any water. Without water, the crow started feeling lightheaded. Even though the crow was tired, he persisted in his search for water. The crow flew across the bush and the surrounding town. He eventually came to a farm after a long search. A pitcher was hidden behind one of the farm's trees. In the hopes of finding water in the pitcher, he flew over to it and peered inside.

The crow was delighted that he had finally found some water. He tried to sip the water from the pitcher but it had very little water in it. The crow tried to reach the water with his beak inside the pitcher, but he couldn't. The water level was too low, and his neck couldn't go all the way down because of the tiny orifice. After some pondering, the crow came up with an idea. "If I throw stones in the pot, the water level will rise," he reasoned. Then I'll be able to sip the water without difficulty." 

The crow looked about, thinking about this. He noticed several little stones on the ground nearby. He flew over to the stones and took one in his beak. He went back to the pot and threw the stone in. The water level began to rise gradually, and as he continued to add stones, the water level climbed to the brim. The crow was overjoyed. He plunged his beak into the water and began to drink. He drank and drank till he couldn't drink it any longer and happily flew back to his home.
