In a village lived two brothers. Both of them were hardworking and caring. They inherited farmlands from their father. The lands were divided into two halves. A hill stood between these lands.

Days passed peacefully. Both of them were happy. One night, the younger brother wondered how his elder brother would manage that piece of land as he had seven mouths to feed. He thought that his elder brother would not be able to manage. Thus, he decided to give a share of his wheat but stealthily.


He climbed the hill carrying a bundle of wheat from his stock. He left the bundle on the elder brother’s farm and returned to his house. He was pleased and slept well that night.

When the elder brother saw a man hauling wheat up the hill in the middle of the night, he was both surprised and stunned. That night the moon was shining fully. The elder brother recognised his younger brother carrying wheat.


The younger brother also recognised his elder brother. Both ran to each other and embraced! They understood what they had done for each other.
