Out of fear, the dog ran away, never to be seen again as he was very nervous and scared of what the master might do to him once he found out that he had lost the ring, in spite of being strictly told that the cat is supposed to be the one to hold the ring. The cat went back home alone and narrated the events that took place to its master. Hearing this, he was furious and vowed to cut off the dog’s tail if he ever set his sights on him. He informed the neighbours about his run away dog and placed a reward if they ever found it. From that day forth, he set out on a world journey, stopping every dog and checking its mouth if it is toothless, and if it is then he has found his dog and will cut off its tail. As a result, every dog he sees will show him its teeth and wag its tail, signifying that they are not the dog he is looking for. Hence, this is why dogs wag their tails.
