Macho Man Randy Savage Biography

Macho Man Randy Savage was the WWE Hall of Famer. As per Macho Man Documentary A&E,  He was well known for the trademark growl and flamboyant costumes. He was one of the biggest pro-wrestling stars during the 1980s and 90s. Randy Savage was the son of professional pro wrestler Angelo Poffo. According to Macho Man Randy Savage Biography, he started his career as a professional baseball player during the 1970s. In the mid of 1980s, "Macho Man" emerged as a WWE superstar. He won several titles and also drawn the attention of the audience through his dazzling costumes. During the 1990s, Randy also competed in the rival WCW. He became WWE Hall of Fame in 2015.

In 32 years of a wrestling career, Savage hold 29 championship reigns with 11 titles. He also got two WWF World Heavyweight Champions and four WCW World Heavyweight Champions. He showed his amazing performance inside the ring and got a higher level of credibility, through the one-time WWF Intercontinental Heavyweight Champion.

He usually uses  "Pomp and Circumstance" as his entrance music and  "Oooh yeah!" as a signature capture phase during his wrestling career.

Early Life Of Macho Man 

Randy Savage Real Name was Randall Mario Poffo. The macho man was born on 5th November 1952 in Columbus, Ohio. He was the elder son of wrestling professional Angelo Poffo. Angelo Poffo was an Italian American.  Randy Savage also attended a series of schools for entering into his father’s career. Through his sports, he covered entire North American territories. The family of Randy savage was settled in Downers Grove, Illinois.

Judy was the mother of Randy Savage and she was Jewish.  According to her, Savage was a restless, well-liked student. During his school days, he even protected other students from school bullies. Luny Poffo was his younger brother. He is also a professional wrestler. 

Macho Man Biography As Baseball Professional 

From his childhood, Randy Savage had excellent skills in various sports. He was particularly concentrated on Baseball. He also joined the St. Louis Cardinals organization for regular practice after completing high school. While playing baseball, he got a deep shoulder injury, that affected his capability to throw the ball. Later, he struggled a lot and practised throwing the ball with his other arm. After a consistent effort and several contributions, he pulled the plug and participated in big-league baseball in 1975.

Savage got a chance to build another career path towards Wrestling. He was introduced as the professional debut wrestler in 1973. Initially, he received a nickname as “The Spider” after completed the Georgia Championship Wrestlings. Later, Ole Anderson suggested a surname to reflect his “savage” style. Finally, his mother given his surname as "Macho Man". His younger brother Lanny also suggested some names that imitate the grunting, snarling sound bites of wrestler Pampero Firpo.

Randy Savage joined with his father Angelo poffo and his younger brother Lanny poffo to launch International Championship Wrestling out of Lexington, Kentucky. Like others, they too faced many hurdles and struggles to compete with the standing champions. With his aggressive ring performance, Macho Man attracted many people towards them. During the early 1980s, Macho man emerged as the top wrestler of Southeastern territories.

In June 1985, Macho Man joined hands with World Wrestling Entertainment. The arrival of Savage has created competition among on the board masters like Bobby "The Brain" Heenan and Jimmy Hart. During this time, Miss Elizabeth entered his life. Both got married and lived together. Randy savage wife was Miss Elizabeth.

Randy Savage started getting popular and started entering the matches to the highbrow arrangements of "Pomp and Circumstance". Flamboyant costumes and his signature “Oh yeah” attracted many people and interacted with Miss Elizabeth. He also challenged other stars and succeeded them, also make him a top WWE villain.

Macho Man also presented as the leading foil to other popular champions like Hulk Hogan. He shows his own skill and claimed the championship and the Intercontinental title in late 1985. In randy savage career, he retained the belt till an epic loss to Ricky "The Dragon" steamboat during Wrestlemania III in 1987. At Wrestlemania IV, again Randy Savage emerged as WWE champion and also formed the tag-team duo with Hogan as "Mega Powers"

After knocking off Jim Duggan “Hacksaw” inside the ring in 1989. Savage’s manager,  Sensational Sherri renamed Randy Savage was “Macho King”, which created high shakes in the narration world. At WrestleMania VII, Macho Man dramatically reunited with Miss Elizabeth. In 1991, both got married in the SummerSlam ceremony, which was also known as the "Match Made in Heaven."

Randy Savage again got a chance to spend his time on ringside. Macho Man started his career as a wrestling commentator during the early 1990s. Spotlight again turned towards him, while Macho Man defeated  WWE champion, Ric Flair at WrestleMania VIII in 1992. He later spent his life behind the microphone and in the following years, he worked in Monday Night Raw matches and WWE CEO Vince McMahon. 

He didn’t give any chance for others to enter the game, before that, In late 1993, Macho Man  Randy Savage jumped into the world wrestling championship.  In 1995, he won the inaugural 60-man and three-ring battle royal in his first WCW championship. In 1996, Macho Man reclaimed the WCW championship title by defeating Flair. 

In 2000, Randy Savage Career in Wrestling came to end and he played his final WCW match. Later, he trained his life to watch the match outside the ring and started enjoying life.

Randy Savage Career In TV, Film and Music

Savage joined hands with slim jim snacks for commercial ads. He also appeared in TV series like Baywatch and entertained people in small. He played a small memorable part as a wrestler role as "Bone Saw" McGraw during 2002 in the big-screen hit Spider-Man. He also crossed the hip hop stream and released the album “Be a Man” in 2003. 

Personal Life Of Randy Savage 

Randy Savage got married in 1984. Randy Savage Wife was Elizabeth Hulette – aka Miss Elizabeth. Later they got divorced in 1991, after the  "Match Made in Heaven." Further, Savage approached his former high school sweetheart Lynn Payne and married her. 

Death Of Randy Savage 

While driving a car, Randy Savage got a heart attack and crashed his car into a tree and died on 20th May 2011. During his death, he was at the age of 58. Savage’s body was cremated and his ashes were placed under his favourite tree in his property at Largo in Florida. While his dog died ten days before his death,  he requested his brother to pour ash of his dog under the same tree and he said that he needs to remember that spot forever.

Tributes And Legacy For Randy Savage 

Vince McMahon, who was in a longtime strained relationship with Randy savage wrote an article in Time Magazine as “one of wrestling's all-time greats” to pay tribute to Savage. During the night of his death, TNA held a ten bell salute. On May 23rd, WWE paid their tribute by airing videos of Macho Man. On the death night, CM Punk also paid tribute to Savage by wearing pink trunks and yellow boots, with white stars on his trunks.  In November 2014, WWE also released a documentary DVD in the name of “Macho Man: The Randy Savage Story”. As Randy Savage had a long relationship with WWE, they interviewed his brother Lanny Poffo and his Mother and telecasted to break some rumours and denying people about wrestlers. In his documentary, they also mentioned the relationship between Savage and Elizabeth.

Time Magazine recognized Randy Savage’s contribution to popular culture. Further, Time Magazine named him a Person of the Year. After few months, In 2015 Randy savage became the WWE Hall of Fame, through that they cemented his legacy as one of pro wrestling's iconic figures.
