Steve Harvey or Broderick Stephen Harvey is an American comedian. He was born on January 17, 1957, in Welch, West Virginia, USA. Steve Harvey is also an actor, writer, television and radio station presenter, and is often identified for his self-help advice on relationships. Harvey grew up in Cleveland with his parents and siblings. He attended Kent State University but dropped out before graduating. He returned to Cleveland and found a job. Most of the time Steve Harvey worked in sales. He worked in the insurance industry when he won an amateur night contest at a comedy club in 1985 and decided to focus on success in stand-up comedy. Harvey used observation humour drawn from his life circumstances and spent the following years performing mostly in clubs. In 2015, Harvey was selected to host the Miss Universe pageant in Las Vegas. The show ended with a gag, and Harvey erroneously announced that Miss Colombia was the winner, then corrected the mistake and declared Miss Philippines the winner. Despite the turmoil, Harvey returned to host the Miss Universe in the Philippines the following year and also hosted the 2017 and 2018 contests.
