Online Counselling Procedure for B.Tech in the State of Haryana
Haryana B.Tech counselling 2023 and seat allotment are organised by the Haryana State Technical Education Society (HSTES). The admissions schedule will be announced sooner on the official website of HSTES. Haryana Engineering counselling is an online process that is conducted in three different phases. The admission process for B.Tech courses in the state of Haryana is based on the scores in JEE Main 2023 and qualifying examination and no entrance exam will be conducted separately by the institutes.
For those who want to pursue B.Tech in Biotechnology Engg., 40 out of 60 seats are reserved for the PCB students based on the merit in their respective qualifying exams.

Stepwise Counselling Process to Pursue Engineering from Haryana
Step 1: Counselling Fees
All the applicants have to pay Rs 500 for participating in the Haryana B.Tech counselling and seat allotment process. There are various payment options available to pay the fee, you can either pay through credit/debit card, net banking or even in the offline mode through e-challan by visiting any Punjab National Bank or Axis Bank branch. It is mandatory to pay the fees for the candidates who want to participate in the counselling process. After the fee is paid, the system will allot a “Roll Number” to every applicant which is necessary to keep throughout the counselling process.
Step 2: Registration for Counselling
Candidates should start registration once they make the payment for the counselling fee. All the applicants have to fill in their basic details such as full name, course details, roll number, application number, date of birth, etc. All the details are to be mentioned as per the JEE Main application. After filling up the form with all the information, click on “registration confirmation” to complete the registration process. After the registration, applicants will receive a user Id and password in their registered email Id for the further procedure.
Step 3: Filling and Locking of Choices
Applicants have to log in using their user ID and password to fill in choices of colleges. This is one of the most crucial steps which requires the complete attention of the student while selecting the options. They have to make their choices based on their rank and the institutes which have high chances of getting admission.
Applicants will have very less time to fill up the choices and they have to be very careful about it. In the end, it is advised to take a printout of the choices locked. Every round of counselling needs to be filled with fresh choices. Students should not fill the same options if they are attending the 2nd or 3rd round of counselling.
Step 4: Seat Allotment
HSTES will release the results of seat allotment and all the candidates can log in using their user ID and password to check the seat allotment. If the applicant is allotted with a seat, then he/ she will see the link to the provisional seat allotment letter. Candidates have to download the letter which contains all the information about the institute allotted to them along with the branch and date of reporting to the institute. Candidates who are not satisfied with the college or the branch will have to wait for the next round of counselling.
Step 5: Reporting to the Institute
Students whoever has accepted the allotted institutes have to report to the allotted institute and pay the admission fee to confirm their admission. They are supposed to carry all the educational documents and other necessary documents. It is important to carry all the original documents along with xerox copies and passport size photographs while reporting to the institute.
