Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) is a state examination conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA). This exam is conducted offline for admission to engineering, agriculture, and pharmacy courses in various institutions/colleges belonging to Karnataka. Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) will be conducted on April 18 and 19, 2024 in offline mode. KCET Exam Eligibility 2024 – Karnataka Common Entrance Test Eligibility  

The following criteria must be fulfilled to qualify for the Karnataka CET exam.

  • Qualifying Exam: The candidates must pass Class 12 or 2nd PUC or any equivalent examination from a board recognized by the Indian Government to be eligible for the KCET exam.

  • Minimum Marks: Candidates must score a minimum of 45% marks (40% for ST/SC) in Maths, Physics, Biology or Biotechnology or Chemistry or Electronics, or Computer Science.

  • Subjects: Applicants must qualify for their examination with Physics and Maths as their main subject and English as their language subject.


KCET 2024 Application Form

The Karnataka Examination Authority has released the KCET 2024 application form on their official website.  Students aspiring to take admission into various Engineering colleges of Karnataka through KCET will be required to fill and submit the application form on or before February 23, 2024 (5 PM). Note: Students who do not fulfill KCET minimum eligibility conditions will not be eligible for KCET admission.


How to Fill KCET Application Form 2024 – Steps to be Followed

  • Registration: This is the first step where you have to register online on the official website of KEA and then log in using your registered credentials.

  • Filling up the KCET Application Form 2024: Using the application number and password, log in and fill out the application form for KCET 2024. Details such as personal, academic, and contact information need to be submitted.

  • Scanned Documents Upload: In this step, you must upload scanned images of your signature, photograph, and left thumb impression per the required specifications. Along with that, you also need to upload your parent’s left thumb impression.

  • Application Fee Payment: Pay the application fee through online (Credit/Debit/Net Banking) mode or offline mode (e-challan).

  • Submission of the Application Form: This is the final step where you need to review all your inputs and then submit the application form. Take a printout of the application form for future use. Furthermore, you need to get a printout attested by your school’s principal or by any gazetted officer.

KCET 2024 Admit Card

The Karnataka Examination Authority release the KCET Admit card on its official website. To access the exam hall ticket, candidates should submit their credentials, such as application number and date of birth. Candidates are  requested to  download the KCET admit card and take a printout for the same for any future reference.


Note: It is mandatory for students to carry KCET Admit Card to the exam center. Candidates who fail to show the admit card to the authorities will not be allowed to enter the exam hall.


KCET 2024 Answer Key

The KCET unofficial Answer Key 2024 will be published on the exam day; however, the date for the final answer key followed by the provisional answer key will be announced by the KEA in the first week of May 2024 tentatively. The KCET answer key will contain all the correct answers to the questions asked in the exam. Candidates can calculate their KCET scores by comparing their responses to the correct answers in the answer key released by the authorities. Candidates will also be provided with a certain time to raise any objection against the answer key with valid proof. The objections will be duly considered by the authorities (if valid) and the final KCET 2024 answer key will be published.


KCET 2024 Result

KCET 2024 will be tentatively announced by the authorities on May 20, 2024. Once the KCET results are available on its official website, candidates can access all the data, like the marks they have secured and their ranking. 


KCET 2024 Cut-Off

KCET 2024 Cutoffs are the maximum marks required to qualify for the KCET counseling process. The authorities release the cut-off after the declaration of KCET 2024 results. The factors given below will determine the KCET 2024 cutoff marks.

  • The difficulty level of the question paper.

  • The total number of candidates appearing for the exam.

  • The total number of seats available.

  • Candidate’s performance in all the sections of the exam.

KCET 2024 Counselling 

KCET 2024 Counselling process will be conducted offline by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA). Qualified candidates can appear in the counseling process. The following documents are mandatory for candidates to carry during the counseling sessions.

KCET 2024 Seat Allotment

The KCET seat allotment is announced online. KCET exam seat allotment is done according to ranks secured by the candidates and the availability of seats in the desired college or institute. 


Candidates who secure a seat in the allotted institutes must visit the institution with their documents for verification purposes. KEA seat allotment session will be conducted in two rounds. The authorities might also be an additional extended round if seats are left in the institutes. Candidates must pay the required institute fees to confirm their admission.
