University of Petroleum & Energy Studies Aptitude Test (UPESEAT)
UPESEAT is the University of Petroleum & Energy Studies Engineering Aptitude Test and is held once every year. The application mode is both offline and online and the fee for application is usually Rs. 1,350. The examination mode is online and counseling mode is both offline/online. There are three participating colleges for this entrance examination which takes place over three hours.
The major dates include 18th April 2020 when the admit cards will be issued for the examination which will then be held in May this year (8th-15th). UPESEAT 2020 Criteria for Eligibility

You should have got a minimum of 50% marks in both Classes 10 and 12 and you should have secured aggregate marks of a minimum of 50% in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics in Class 12. If you are applying via the Board examination, you should have got 50% in Classes 10 and 12 and 50% in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry in Class 12. If you apply via JEE Main 2020, you should have qualified JEE Main 2020 successfully along with adhering to the above criteria.
Application Procedure for UPESEAT 2020
You can pay the application fee of Rs. 1,350 through net banking or credit/debit cards when you apply online. The application form can be filled up through an extensive procedure.
Here are the key steps to be kept in mind:
Registration- You will have to first register prior to filling up the online application form for UPESEAT 2020. For this procedure, you will have to enter your details like date of birth, name, gender, email address, nationality, city, mobile number, course applied for and state. You have to then choose Submit.
Key in the OTP (One-Time Password)- After you have submitted all details carefully in the application form, you will get an OTP on your registered mobile phone number. This number has to be provided and then you will get a confirmation email on the registered email ID with the password and username.
Login and Get Your Information Confirmed- You should then login to the portal with your password and username that you get on the email. Post login, you should check the details filled up in the online application form and then submit the same by choosing Confirm.
Paying the Fee for Application- You will then be sent to the payment page for paying application fees. You will then have to pay Rs. 1,350 as the application fee in the online mode.
Key in Your Academic Information- Post payment of the fees, you will be automatically redirected to the form for keying in your academic qualifications. Post this procedure, you can download the application form easily.
Pattern of the Examination
You should always check out the examination pattern very carefully prior to sitting for the test. UPESEAT 2020 pattern comprises a computer-based examination with 200 questions in total.
Here is the question structure:
Physics- 50 questions
Mathematics- 50 questions
Chemistry- 50 questions
Current Affairs Awareness- 20 questions
English Language Comprehension- 30 questions
This examination will be a 3-hour test with 1 mark given for every answer that is correct. The MCQ (multiple choice question) format will be followed for the examination. There is no negative marking as well.
