FUP Full Form in Mobile Recharge

FUP full form “ Fair Usage Policy”, is implemented by the mobile network providers, wherein they set a limit on the usage of internet data and calling minutes. This policy was implemented to prevent the overuse or abuse of services by few users, which sometimes leads to the unavailability of services for other users. The FUP policy is mainly set by the mobile network providers for the unlimited usage plans so that users do not use the calling minutes or internet data beyond the given limits. If the FUP limit is crossed by the users, the internet limit gets minimized or the outgoing talk time service gets stopped. To continue usage beyond the FUP, there are applicable charges which users are liable to pay.

In the popular prepaid plans such as 1 GB, 1.5 GB, 2 GB, and 4 GB of Vodafone, Airtel, Reliance Jio, the FUP caps are placed after the subscribe data pack is exceeded. Once the user exhausts their internet data, they still use the internet data but at a reduced speed of 128 KBPS. When it comes to calling minutes, Reliance Jio offers unlimited Jio to Jio calls but there is a limit of 1000 minutes for calls made from Jio to other network users. Once the calling limit gets crossed, the user has to pay an extra amount for talk time.
