The final of the 2020 Dream11 IPL was being played between the Mumbai Indians and the Delhi Capitals and the match was won by the Mumbai Indians. In IPL history, Mumbai Indians is the most successful team who had won 5 IPL titles so far. Another team Chennai Super Kings is the only team who had lost the most finals of the IPL. Well, this is of the 2020 winners, and specified two teams, in this section we will study IPL all winners list. The IPL Champion team list will be represented in the forthcoming section but before that let us know more about IPL.

IPL – Indian Premier League  

The Indian Premier League (abbreviated as IPL) is the professional cricket game called the Twenty20 Cricket League. In this league, there are eight teams who contested in this game which is based out of the eight different Indian cities. The league was founded by the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) in the year 2007, later from 2008 the IPL commenced. The game generally takes place in the month of March every year. 

Teams participate in this game, where it consists of cricketers all over the world. Each team competes against each other to win the title of that particular year’s IPL winner. IPL all season winners are being recorded. In the record, it is vivid that Mumbai Indians won the maximum seasons, with Royal Challengers Bangalore being the least winning team.

Uncertainties in 2020

The final that happened in the 2020 Dream11 IPL was played between Mumbai Indians and the Delhi Capitals and was won by Mumbai Indians by 5 wickets. IPL or the Indian Premier League is a professional Twenty20 cricket league in India. Currently, the IPL is comprised of 8 challenging teams, which consist of players from around the world. The Indian Premier League is governed by the Board of Control for Cricket (abbreviated as BCCI) in India. 

To date, 12 seasons are played successfully and IPL 2020 was played as the 13th season. The 13th edition of the IPL is played in UAE from 19th of September in the year 2020 till 10th of November in the year 2020. The 13th season was originally scheduled to start on March 29, 2020, but this was suspended until 15th April due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. On 2nd August 2020, BCCI has announced that the tournament will be played in the UAE from September 19, 2020, to November 10, 2020, keeping in mind the covid situation in the country.

In the year 2017, Mumbai Indians became the 1st team in the entire IPL history to win the title more than two times. The first win of MI was in 2013 and the second was in 2015.

In 2016, The Sunrisers Hyderabad team managed to win the final match against Royal Challengers Bangalore by just 8 runs. It was a spectacular match to watch by the viewers.

Kolkata Knight Riders defeated the defending champions of 2011 - Chennai Super Kings in the final. In this final showdown, the win of KKR is credited to Bisla for his great performance.

Chennai Super Kings became the first team of IPL to win continuous back-to-back finals in history. They were the defending champions who had held the title against the batting titans of the tournament played by RCB. CSK’s batting unit was lit up by the presence of Michael Hussey, who played some important innings throughout the tournament in 2011. Hussey and Murali Vijay are played their part in a 159 run opening partnership against the Royal Challengers Bangalore was the grounding reason for CSK’s defending the title.

The Chargers that were led by Adam Gilchrist won the second edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). This team had some incredible hitters, namely – Herschelle Gibbs, young Rohit Sharma, Andrew Symonds. Pragyan Ojha in this season played a very crucial and extraordinary role in the team’s journey with his left-arm spin bowling scalping the 18 wickets in the tournament. Adam Gilchrist notched up another total of 495 runs in which 16 matches were scored that stood second in the overall list of highest run-scorers in the season behind Mathew Hayden.

The Shane Warne who led Rajasthan Royals won the first edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). This was a thoroughly well-balanced team with experienced batsmen like Shane Watson and Graeme Smith, with an explosive batsman namely - Yusuf Pathan in the middle order, and the deceptive bowler named - Sohail Tanvir. They were the backbone of the Royals in the first edition. But in the final against the Chennai Super Kings, Yusuf Pathan played a match of his life with his contributions in both his bowling and the batting squad. Yusuf first took the 3 most crucial wickets with a great run rate that was less than the bowl and scored a quickfire of 56 from 39.

1. In IPL the approximate price of the ball is around 21 lakhs.

2. AB de-Villers and Kieron are the only two overseas players who had played more than 100 matches for a single team.

3. RCB is a team that made the highest as well the lowest runs in IPL to date. The team made 263 runs against Pune Warriors in IPL 2013 while it also made 49 runs in 2017, and the team was engulfed by KKR in that match. 

4. Suresh Raina is so far the leading run-scorer in IPL history.

5. Chris Morris of Rajasthan Royals is the most valued player with a cost of 16.25 crore.
