Class 9 English syllabus of the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) board is divided into two parts. One is English literature, and the other one is the English language. There are five short stories or prose: Old Man at the Bridge by Ernest Hemingway, A Horse, and Two Goats by R. K. Narayan, Hearts and Hands by O. Henry, A Face in the Dark by Ruskin Bond, and An Angel by Disguise by T. S. Arthur.


Internal Assessment

English literature's internal assignments include written assignments throughout the year. For the English language's internal assessment, the speaking and listening skills of students will be checked. Examiners will read aloud approximately 300 words twice. Students have to answer objective type questions from the passage. Students have to give a presentation of at least two minutes on any topic, followed by a three-minute discussion on the same issue.

Class 9 ICSE English syllabus is divided into two parts. The first part is the English language that contains a total of a 100 marks.
