Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Tirupati is an autonomous body of engineering University located in Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh. It is one of the third phase IITs established in 2015. B.Tech, M.Tech, M.Sc., MS, and Ph.D. are the courses available for admission to IIT Tirupati. It is presently mentored by IIT Madras and has a temporary campus at Yerpedu.

Duration: 4 years

Specializations: Computer Science, Electrical Mechanical, Civil, and Chemical Engineering

Eligibility: 75% in class 12th in PCM and English/Hindi or any other first language exam taken

M.Tech

Duration: 2 years

Specializations: Computer Science, Electrical Mechanical, Civil, and Chemical Engineering

Eligibility: IIT graduates in B.Tech or students in their final year of B.Tech. with 8 CGPA (7.5 for SC/ST) and above can apply without GATE scores.

Selection Criteria: GATE + Counselling

M.Sc.

Duration: 2 years

Specializations: Chemistry / Mathematics & Statistics, Physics

Eligibility: Applicants holding a B.Sc degree in any of the above areas or equivalent with at least 60% aggregate score are eligible to apply.

Selection Criteria: Entrance + Counselling

MS

Duration: 2 years

Eligibility: Bachelor’s in Engineering/Technology in a relevant subject. GATE scores are mandatory. IIT graduates with 8/10 CGPA arealso eligible for admissions.

Selection Criteria: Entrance + Interview

PhD

Duration: 3 years

Branches: Engineering, Science & Technology, Humanities

Eligibility: Have a Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology OR A Master’s degree by Research in Engineering/Technology/Science with a good academic record.

Selection Criteria: Entrance / UG / Master’s scores + Written Test + Interview

IIT Tirupati B.Tech

IIT Tirupati offers BTech in 5 specializations: CSE, EE, ME, Civil, and Chemical Engineering. Candidates seeking admission to IIT Tirupati must take the JEE Mains and Advanced exams and qualify for a rank between 2400 and 8000. The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counseling makes the final admission. After the final registration, candidates can choose the desired subject of specialization.

Eligibility

Students with a 75% or equivalent in the 10+2 exam with Maths, Physics, and Chemistry are eligible to qualify for admission to IIT Tirupati. JoSAA maintains the seat allocation based on JEE Advanced scorecard, course preferences, and the applicant's choice of colleges.

IIT Tirupati 2022 Admission 

IIT Tirupati admission 2022 is currently ongoing for the B.Tech program. Aspirants who have cleared the JEE Advanced examination can register online and fill choices for JoSAA Counselling 2022 till September 21 by visiting the main page of JoSAA.JoSSA round-1 seat allocation will take place on September 23. 

Also, GATE 2023 registrations have started; the last date to apply for the same is September 30. The GATE 2023 exam will be conducted between February 4 and February 12, 2023. 

Further, IIT JAM 2023 application forms are out now. The last date to submit the application form is October 11.

For the B.Tech admissions at IIT Tirupati, candidates must appear for both JEE Main and JEE Advanced examinations. Also, they need to participate in the JoSAA counseling for the final seat allotments.

• The IIT Tirupati 2020 Cut-off is based on different parameters like the number of candidates who appeared for the exam, the number of seats, the difficulty level of the examination, and last year’s admission record.

• The IIT Tirutai 2022 Cutoff marks will be announced to only those candidates who qualify for both JEE Mains 2022 & JEE Advanced 2022 exams.

• The candidates who secure the highest mark in the exam will get the top rank, whereas the candidates with low marks will be allotted the lowest rank.

• The selection board of JOSSA will not announce the Minimum Cutoff Marks for a specified Engineering Branch or College.

• The selection board of JOSSA will announce the opening/first rank and closing/last rank for different IIT Colleges participating in JEE Mains and  JEE Advanced exams.

• The closing/last rank for a particular IIT college is entirely on the total number of seats in a college with the total number of candidates who appeared in JOSSA 2022 Counselling.

• Candidates are advised to fill in their preferences according to their merit in the entrance examination.

IIT Tirupati 2022: Scholarship

There are three kinds of scholarships available for students based on their needs.

• Merit cum means: This scholarship is for students whose yearly income is less than 4.5 LPA and covers the tuition fees of the institute with a monthly stipend of 8 months.

• SC/ST scholarship: It is provided to every SC/ST category student.

• University-free studentship: 10% of the admitted students whose family’s annual income is less than 4.5 LPA are exempted from tuition fees.
