4. What are marking pattern details for JEE Mains Physics 2016?

The details are as follows

  • Time Required: A total of 3 hours is required to complete all three topics (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics). The entire time period for applicants with a 40% impairment is 4 hours.


  • The nature of the questions in the JEE Main Physics paper will be divided into two categories. MCQs are the first type, and Non-MCQ or Numeric Value questions are the second.


  • Total Number of Questions: In JEE Main 2022, there will be a total of 30 questions from each section. There will be 20 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and 10 non-MCQs with a numerical value as a response out of a total of 30 questions. Candidates must answer 5 out of 10 questions based on numerical values.


  • +4 marks will be awarded for each right response to either an MCQ or a Numeric Value Question.


  • Negative Marking: A -1 mark will be deducted for each erroneous response, but there will be no negative marking for Numeric Value answers.


  • The paper is written in Hindi, English, and Gujarati. Candidates can choose between English and Hindi question papers. This option will be available to all candidates. Gujarati is the only language choice offered to candidates from Gujarat, Daman & Diu, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli.


  • Total Points: The Physics section has a total of 100 points, and the overall JEE Main 2022 B.Tech paper has a total of 300 points.


  • Total Number of Sections: In JEE Main 2022, there will be three sections: Physics, chemistry, and mathematics.
