• Even today if there is a foreign attack all the citizens will fight for the nation on the same level irrespective of their literacy status. So they must be given equal opportunity in the appointment of government too.

• If only a few literate people vote, the powers would be limited to a certain class of people.

• There is a high chance of corruption if only a few people are allowed to vote.
