2. What is AIIMS, and who conducts it?
The AIIMS MBBS Exam also referred to as AIIMS, is an MBBS undergraduate program offered to Class 12 students. All India Institute of Medical Sciences is a group of government public medical universities under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. They conduct this exam at a national level in 9 AIIMS Institutes all over India. Through this exam, the qualifying candidates are given admissions to different AIIMS institutes all over India, including New Delhi, Bhopal, Nagpur, Rishikesh, Jodhpur, Guntur, Patna, Raipur, and Bhubaneswar.
3. What are the eligibility criteria for applying to AIIMS MBBS?
Candidates must be completed 17 years of age and have the educational qualifications where:
Class 12th examination or equivalent from any recognized board passing candidates are eligible for this examination.
The main subjects taken in the class 12 examination should be Physics, Biology, Chemistry, English.
A passing percentage of 60% for the General Category and 50% for SC/ST is required.
After applying for AIIMS, the candidates should also submit passing certificates and other needed documents that show the required score and subjects.
AIIMS has revised the entire form filling procedure. From this year, it will be a two-stage process comprising of:
Basic Registration: to be tentatively open from November – January.
Final Registration: formalities of this stage involve paying for the exam, choosing the exam center, etc.
4. What is the difference between AIIMS and NEET?
The difference is as follows:
AIIMS Entrance Exam is for applying in any of the six branches of AIIMS, issued as per ranking. If the candidate wants to apply for any government/private medical colleges other than AIIMS, JIPMER, cracking NEET is required.
AIIMS exam takes place online, but the NEET exam is offline based.
AIIMS is a 3.5-hour exam consisting of 200MCQs whereas NEET is a 3-hour exam of 180 MCQs
AIIMS exam languages are Hindi and English; NEET is conducted in 10 Indian Languages (Hindi, English, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Kannada, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, Assamese.
In AIIMS, one question carries 1 mark, and 1/3 marks are deducted for an incorrect response. In NEET, one question carries 4 marks & 1 mark is deducted for each incorrect answer.
25 years is the maximum age limit for AIIMS whereas in NEET the maximum ages are 25 years & 30 years for Unreserved Categories & Reserved Categories, respectively.
5. How to prepare for AIIMS?
