Uttrakhand MBBS Admission 2023-24

Uttarakhand Medical Education University Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna, Dehradun, will be conducting centralized counseling for applicants who wish to take up admission in MBBS in Uttarakhand state. The authority board will be conducting admission for 85% state quota seats. Medical Counselling Committee will conduct counseling for the remaining 15% All India Quota seats. The counseling will be conducted based on marks and ranks secured by the candidate in the NEET 2023 examination.

Uttarakhand MBBS 2023 Admission Criteria

15% All India Quota (AIQ) Seats: 

A total of 15% seats in the state government colleges of Uttrakhand are reserved under 15% AIQ. Uttarakhand MBBS admission to 15% AIQ seats will be granted to candidates through NEET 2023 counseling conducted by Medical Counselling Committee.

Central/Deemed universities: 

Admission to 100% seats in deemed/central universities/AIIMS institutes in the state will be granted to candidates through NEET 2023 counseling conducted by Medical Counselling Committee.

85% State Quota Seats: 

Remaining 85% of seats in government colleges are reserved under the state quota. Uttarakhand NEET admission to 85% of state quota seats will be granted to candidates through counseling conducted by HNBUMU.

Private Colleges: 

Under Uttarakhand MBBS/BDS 2023 admission,  the seats in private medical and dental colleges in the state will be filled.

Uttarakhand MBBS 2023 Admission Process

The application form for MBBS Admission 2023 in Uttarakhand will be released by Uttarakhand Medical Education University Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna, Dehradun. 

The online application for MBBS admission will be released on 2023, on the official website of Uttrakhand MBBS Admission 2023. The registration and registration form can only be filled out online, which will be on the official website. To top up the Uttarakhand MBBS Application Form, students must visit the official web portal of HNBUMU and follow specific steps. 

Here is the step-wise detail for candidates’ reference.

1st Step: Visit the official website of HNBUMEU.

2nd Step: Click on the relevant link of the registration process.

3rd Step: Fill all the necessary details asked, like phone number, NEET Admit Card Details, email id, etc.

4th Step: After registering, candidates will receive a verification code on the registered mobile number.

5th Step: After entering the verification code on the screen, the application form appears on the screen.

6th Step: Candidates must enter their details on the screen.

7th Step: Candidates will also be asked to upload self-attested copies of a few necessary documents.

8th Step: Submit the online application form.

Eligibility Criteria for Uttarakhand MBBS 2023 Admission process

Candidates must ensure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria prescribed by the Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Uttarakhand Medical Education University, Dehradun. Eligibility criteria are the minimum requirement a candidate must fulfill to apply for centralized counseling. Given below is the eligibility criterion for the candidate’s reference.

Academic Requirements:

1. Candidates should have attended the NEET 2023 exam and got the scores to register for admission.

2. Candidates of the general category should have 50% marks in class 12th with Biology, Physics, and Chemistry as compulsory subjects.

3. Candidates belonging to PH categories should have 45% aggregate in class 12th with Biology, Physics, and Chemistry as compulsory subjects.

Domicile Rules:

1. Students who have studied their class 10th and 12th from Uttarakhand are eligible.

2. Candidates who do not belong to Uttarakhand but have completed their class 10th and 12th from Uttarakhand are eligible.

3. Candidates who are non-residents of Uttarakhand but have completed their class 10th and 12th from Uttarakhand are also eligible. 

Age Limit:

1. Candidates' lower age limit should be 17 as of December 31, 2023.

2. Candidates' upper age limit should be 25 as of May 6, 2023.

Uttarakhand MBBS 2023 Seat Allotment

Uttarakhand MBBS 2023 seat allotment details will be published separately for each round of counseling. However, the merit rank of the applicants and choices filled by them will be considered while allotting seats for the MBBS course. Applicants who have been allotted college to pursue MBBS in the first round can also go for the next round of counseling for upgradation. Candidates are requested to verify  the same before participating in the counseling. If there is no upgradation, applicants' earlier round seats will remain safe.

Number of MBBS Seats In Uttrakhand

Out of 7 Medical colleges in Uttrakhand, there are four Government medical colleges, one is AIIMS, and the remaining two are private colleges. As a medical aspirant, you must know that in a Government college, 15 % of seats are reserved for the All India quota, and the remaining 85 % are for state students. Few of these seats are reserved for SC/ST/OBC/PH etc.. 

There are 625 seats in Government medical colleges, out of which 100 MBBS seats got approval last year. There are 300 vacant seats in private colleges in Uttrakhand.
