4. What is the NSO Exam Paper Pattern?
Ans: The NSO exam pattern is determined by the SOF and it varies for different classes. For classes 1 to 4, a total of 35 questions are asked and the time duration is one hour. While for classes 5 to 12, a total of 50 questions are asked and the total time duration remains the same, that is one hour. The medium of the NSO exam is English. NSO is conducted during school hours only. According to the NSO exam pattern 2024 level 1, the question paper consists of three sections. The sections for Classes 1 to 10 include - Logical Reasoning, Science, Achievers Section while for Class 11 and 12, they are - Chemistry/Physics, Achievers Section, Biology/Mathematics.
5. What is the Syllabus of National Science Olympiad organized by SOF of class 9?
Ans: National Science Olympiad is a classical event for students of class 9th. It is organized by SOF of class 9th and will be held on 10, 11 and 12 March 2018. This year there are two sections in the olympiad: mathematics and chemistry. The tests will be of 2 hours duration with 60 questions (40 in maths, 20 in chemistry). A student can participate in both the sections if he/she wishes to do so. The test will be conducted in two shifts, at 10:00 am and 2:30 pm.
The qualifying rounds of the National Science Olympiad are held in various districts. In the first round there are two papers of one hour duration each. The subjects are mathematics and chemistry. The second round has three papers of one hour duration each. The subjects are mathematics, physics and chemistry. The first, second and third position holders in the qualifying rounds will be eligible for selection to participate in the National Science Olympiad to be held at Jammu during March, 2018.
