Hint: A censure motion or a No-Confidence motion are both initiated by one of the houses of the parliament or a member of one of the houses of the parliament. The two houses of the parliament are the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha.
Complete answer step by step: The censure movement and the No-confidence movement are two entirely different concepts. In the case of a No-confidence motion, there is a vote against the government saying that they’re not fit to remain in office and exercise power anymore whereas a censure motion carries no such threat.
The no-confidence motion is against all the council members of the Lok Sabha and not just one minister in particular. The council of ministers enjoys their power till they have the confidence of majority members of the Lok Sabha. In the case of the censure motion, it is not like this. The vote can be against a particular member of the council.
There is no impact on the government in case of a censure motion as it carries the threat to an individual member of the council unlike in the case of a no-confidence motion when the entire council is dissolved.
Note: For a no-confidence motion to be valid they need to have majority support from the Lok Sabha members without which the motion is invalid.
