Hint: Charge is defined as the physical property of the matter which causes it to experience a force when it is placed in an electromagnetic field. The two types of charges are positive and negative charges which are also commonly called protons and electrons.
Complete solution:
The quark is an elementary particle and also a fundamental constituent of the matter. Whenever the quarks are combined, they produce composite particles called hadrons. The neutrons and protons which are the main components of the atomic nuclei are the most stable ones. The hadrons are held together by the strong nuclear force.
There are six types of quarks. Namely, Up quark, down quark, Top quark, Bottom quark, strange quark, and charm quark.
The hadrons are of two types. They are baryons and mesons.
The baryons are made up of three colored quarks. The protons and the neutrons are the two most common baryons. Usually, the protons are made up of two up quarks and one down quark thereby giving a total charge of +1e. While the neutrons are made up of the one up quark and two down quarks thereby giving a total charge of zero.
The mesons are made up of 1 quark and 1 antiquark. Mesons must possess some integral spin as they are bosons and have baryon number, B = 0.
From the above explanation, it is clear that the other quark required is the up quark.
Note: 1. According to the classification of the particles, Hadrons are the heaviest particles.
2. Hadrons do not carry the net color charge while the quark carries a color charge.
3. Protons, neutrons, kaon, antiprotons are some of the examples of hadrons.
