Hint: Here in this question we had to first, find the present age of wife from the given age of daughter and after that we can easily find the present age of man from the given condition (i.e. man is five years older than wife). Now to find the age of man, we just need to add 5 to the age of his wife.
Complete step-by-step answer:
As we know that it is given that the daughter is 10 years old now.
And the present age of the wife is three times more than the present age of his daughter.
So, the present age of the wife will be equal to 3*10 = 30 years
Now as it is given in the question that the present age of the man is 5 years more than the present age of the wife.
So, the present age of the man will be = present age of wife + 5 = 30 + 5 = 35 years.
Now as we know that the daughter 's present age is 10.
So, it is obvious that my daughter must have been born 10 years ago.
Now the man's age 10 years ago will be = man’s present age – 10 = 35 – 10 = 25 years.
So, the man's age when his daughter was born must be equal to 25 years.
Hence, the correct option will be C.
Note:- Whenever we come up with this type of problem where we are given the age of one person and the conditions for the age of other persons (man and wife) with respect to that person (daughter), then we have to solve the problem step by step. Like first we are given the condition for age of wife with respect to age of daughter (wife age = 3*daughter age). So, we will first find the age of the wife and after that we will find the present age of the man from the given condition (man is 5 years older than wife). Now we can directly get the age of man when daughter was born by subtracting the present age of daughter from the present age of man because every person born x years ago, where x will be the present age of that person. This will be the easiest and efficient way to find the solution of the problem.
