Hint: Vijayanagar Empire is also called as Karnata Empire and the Kingdom of Bisnegar by the Portuguese. It was located on the Deccan plateau region of South India. Its power started to decline after a major defeat in the battle of Talikota in 1565 .

Complete answer:
Let us discuss the Vijayanagara Empire. It was established in 1336 by the brothers Harihara I and Bukka Raya II of the Sangama dynasty. This empire subjugated almost all the South India's king ruling families and the sultan’s of the Deccan region, transformed into a noble power in the Deccan region. It lost its power after a major military defeat in the battle of Talikota in 1565 ,by the combined armed forces of the Deccan sultanates. Hampi is the capital of Vijayanagara Empire which is currently known as the world heritage site in Karnataka. In 1565 , Aliya Rama Raya, the then Chief Minister of Vijayanagar Empire led the battle. Initially Vijayanagara was the winning side, until the two Muslim Generals of the Vijayanagara army switched their loyalty to sultanates. Aliya Rama Raya was captured and beheaded in the battle field itself. This created confusion among the other loyal portions of Vijayanagar army. The sultanates army plundered Hampi and reduced it into remains, which was never reoccupied. Tirumala Deva Raya the brother of Aliya Rama Raya, started the Aravidu dynasty after the battle of Talikota and shifted the capital to East. He founded the new capital of Penukonda as a replacement for the lost Capital Hampi.
So, the correct answer is Option A.

Note: The Battle of Talikota reduced the power of Vijayanagara in the Deccan Plateau. Tirumala tried to reconstitute the Vijayanagara Empire but he abdicated in 1572 . The Aravidu dynasty finally ended in 1646 due to the continued wars with the Bijapur Sultanates.
