5. ODISHA:- Rice producing state of India with almost 3.94 million hectare land under cultivation producing about 5.87 million tonnes of rice.
6. ASSAM:-rice producing state of India with almost 2.46 million hectare land under cultivation producing about 5.14 million tonnes of rice.
Rice is the most important cereal food crop of India, and the area under rice crop was 30.81 million/hectare .It occupies about $23.3\%$ of the gross cropped area of the country and plays an important role in national food grain supply.
