Hint: Weather is composed of different elements and nothing more than that. The interaction between these elements results in different climatic conditions or weather events.
Complete Answer: Climate and weather are two different concepts but both are influenced by the same six components or elements. The six main elements of the weather and climate are as follows:
- Temperature: Temperature is an estimation of the measure of active energy present noticeable all around, which shows itself actually through the experience of warmth or cold. The scales commonly used to quantify temperature are Celsius, Fahrenheit, and Kelvin. The instrument used to gauge temperature is known as a thermometer.
- Atmospheric Pressure: Air pressure or atmospheric pressure is the aftereffect of the pressure made by the heaviness of the air in the Earth's atmosphere. It is additionally called barometric pressure, named after the instrument used to quantify atmosphere pressure.
- Wind: The flow of the wind is one of the primary driving forces of climate or weather. The wind refers to the large-scale flow of air from a zone of high to a region of low pressure in the environment. The speed and strength of wind are dictated by the distance between the low pressure and high-pressure regions, also including the difference in air pressure. The anemometer is the instrument used to quantify wind speed.
- Humidity: Humidity is the measure of water vapour that is available in the environment at any explicit time. Water vapour is simply water in a condition of gas after the liquid has evaporated. The instrument used to gauge the humidity is the hygrometer or the psychomotor.
- Precipitation: Precipitation is water in the entirety of its various states. It is basically formed through the process of evaporation and condensation. Precipitation can appear in forms of snow, rain, hail, or graupel. Precipitation is measured with the help of a rain gauge instrument.
- Cloudiness: Clouds are water in various states like ice or are water droplets which are formed after water vapours reach the condensation level and could no longer retain its gaseous form. With the help of satellites and radars, meteorologists measure the density, moisture and temperature of the clouds.
Note: Sunshine duration also plays an important role in influencing the weather or climatic conditions of a region. It refers to the time period how long the Earth's surface is exposed to the sun rays. Campbell-Stokes recorder is used to record the sunshine duration.
