Complete answer: 1. A friendship treaty signed between England-Japan- Britain and Japan signed the first Anglo-Japanese alliance in January 1902. The British were represented by Lord Lansdowne, the British foreign secretary and the Japanese by Hayashi Tadasu, a Japanese diplomat. It was a diplomatic treaty that ended British isolation. The alliance was renewed and expanded twice. This alliance resulted in boosting trade and cultural exchanges between the British and the Japanese.
