Hint: The pact was signed between two Hindu leaders for the depressed class for reservation of electoral seats.

Complete answer:
The Poona Pact was an Agreement signed between the two hindu leaders for the Mahatma gandhi and Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar in India for granting new Rights to the Dalits(often known “Untouchables”) on the behalf of the Upper class and Depressed class i.e. the reservation of Electoral seats in the Legislature in 1930 under British rule. Mahatma Gandhi demurred on providing a separate electorate to Dalits from Hindus. In his view it weakens the independence of india. This Pact was signed between Madan Mohan Malviya on behalf of upper caste and Dr. B.R Ambedkar on the basis of Dalits on 24 September at Yerwada Central Jail in Poona, India and Though Gandhi ji announced a fast unto death,he began in jail on september 18,which was in opposition to the British Prime Minister Ramsay MacDonald to agree on giving separate electorates to depressed classes for the election of members of provincial assemblies in British India. They agreed to 148 separate Electoral seats.

Note: The Lothian Committee report indicated the franchise for the Central and Provincial legislature of the depressed classes. Also out of the educational grant given to every province an adequate sum shall be ear-marked for providing educational facilities to the depressed classes.
