Hint:Two very famous rivers of India originate near a lake which holds a very important place in Hinduism. The Brahmaputra and the other river start from the opposite sides of this lake and go their separate ways, flowing along the Himalayan mountains.

Complete answer:
Brahmaputra river is considered a lifeline in many states of northeastern India. It is known by many names, depending on the state it passes through.
It originates in the Mansarovar lake region (near Mount Kailash) of Tibet, which is located on the northern side of the Himalayas. In Tibet, Brahmaputra travels east parallel to the Himalayan mountain chain where it is known by the name of Yarlung Tsangpo. Passing through southern Tibet, it takes a U-turn near the mountain of Namcha Barua and enters India in the state of Arunachal Pradesh, where it is known by the name of Siang/Dihang river. Joined by many rivers as its tributaries and because of the slope of the northeastern region, its volume and speed increase many folds. It then passes through Assam valley and traveling south-west enters Bangladesh to join with the Ganga river. After that, it discharges its water into the Bay of Bengal. In Bangladesh it is also referred to as Jamuna, not to be confused with the Yamuna river of India

Thus, option (C) is correct.

Note: Of its complete flowing length, in India Brahmaputra flows only for the length of 916km. Major tributaries of the Brahmaputra river are Teesta, Lohit, Danba Qu, Kameng, Subhansiri, Dhansiri, Manas, Jaldhaka, Raidak, Klong, and may others.
