Mainly the chemical energy is produced in the redox reaction. Redox reactions are those in which oxidation and reduction will occur. So, there are many chemical cells called the electrochemical cell which is used to convert the chemical energy to electrical energy. One such cell is the galvanic cell.
In a galvanic cell, there are two parts, one in which the oxidation reaction takes place and the other in which the reduction reaction takes place. There are two electrodes like zinc and copper which are dipped in a suitable solution and both the electrodes are connected by a salt bridge which maintains the electrical neutrality. Both the electrodes are connected with a voltmeter. The oxidation and reduction reaction will occur at the cathode and the anode. When these reactions occur there is the flow of electrons, this flow takes place from the negative pole to the positive pole. This flow of electrons will create electrical energy.
