Let us first draw the circuit diagram using components given: A cell, a resistor, an ammeter, a voltmeter, and a closed switch as follows:
In the above diagram we have used all the components ammeter and voltmeter have a special concept to place in the circuit diagram i.e. when the ammeter is added to the circuit it should be in series along with the resistor and for voltmeter to be added in circuit the voltmeter must be in parallel to the resistor. The current will flow from the positive to negative terminal of the Cell. When the switch is closed the current starts flowing. Ammeter measures the current flowing through the circuit in ampere or A. The voltmeter measures the voltage applied to the circuit in volt or V.
Thus, we have given the explanation for the circuit diagram.
Now, the resistance is measured in ammeter and voltmeter:
The voltmeter must have the larger resistance than that of the ammeter because the low resistance will increase the flow of current in the circuit and we will experience the disturbance in the working of the circuit. But the high internal resistance and small flow of current will lead to negligible disturbance in the circuit.
Thus we conclude that the resistance of voltmeter is larger than the ammeter.

We have to be careful about the placement of voltmeter and ammeter. It needs the proper knowledge about placing these components in the circuit otherwise there will be disturbance in the circuit and we will not get the proper result.
