Complete answer: - Kashmir Valley has a large geographic region with moderate climate. It has the Karakoram Range towards the north, Pir Panjal Range in the south and west and in the east, it has the Zaskar Ranges.
- It can be mainly characterized as cool during the spring and autumn, mild summers and frigid winters.
The width of the central Kashmir Valley is about 100 km and has an area of 15,520.3 km2.
- The valley is divided from Ladakh by the Himalayas and enclosed from the west and the south by the Pir Panjal Range, separating it from the Great Northern Plains.
- The Pir Panjal Range borders the valley in the southwest. It is bounded on the northeast by the Himalayas range. It is approximately 135 km in length and 32 km in width. The Jhelum River drains this area.
