In this question we have asked about the difference between mitochondria and plastid. The main difference is that Mitochondria is found in all eukaryotes and plastids found in plants and algae only. Mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell. It is responsible for the production of energy (in the form of ATP) in the cell which is used for aerobic respiration. Plastid helps in the production and storage of food (glucose). They are only found in plants and algae. They contain different pigments and on the basis of these pigments they are divided into 3 types.
