Differentiate between the cellular immune response and the humoral immune response?
Answer

Hint: Humoral immunity produces antibodies against the antigens which are present outside the infected cell or freely in blood. Whereas the cellular immunity works inside the cells, where it destroys the pathogens and microorganisms by the production of cytokines.
Complete answer:
Action against pathogen
Humoral immunity is quick or rapid in their action whereas the cell-mediated immunity shows delayed response due to permanent action against the pathogens.
Cell mediated immunity responds to the rejection in the organ transplants whereas humoral immunity involved in the graft rejections due to formation of antibodies.
Note:
The basic difference between both the immunity can be concluded as the process of destroying the pathogens, where specific antigen antibodies are produced against the pathogens, while in cell mediated immunity it is destroyed by the cell lysis. Humoral immune response acts as free-floating antigens, whereas cell mediated immunity acts inside the cell pathogens.
Complete answer:
| CELLULAR IMMUNITY | HUMORAL IMMUNITY |
| Cell mediated immunity shows slow response against the pathogens. | Humoral immunity shows quick response against the pathogens. |
| It is a type of adaptive immune system. | It is also the type of adaptive immune system. |
| The cell-mediated immunity is regulated by the T-lymphocytes and is responsible for destruction of pathogens that invaded the cells. | The humoral immunity is regulated by B-lymphocytes and produces antibodies against the pathogens. |
| It secretes cytokines. | It secretes antibodies. |
| They are associated with T-lymphocytes, helper T cells, NK cells and macrophages. | They are associated with B-lymphocytes, T-lymphocytes and the macrophages. |
