Hint: We can define these two types of solutions in a homogeneous and non- homogeneous solution. These solutions are divided on the basis of particle size.

Step by step solution: We know that solution is a mixture of one or more solutes dissolved in a solvent. For example: salt in water. And on the basis of the nature of particle size, solutions are divided into three types: 1) True solution, 2) Colloidal solution and 3) Suspension.
According to the requirement difference between true solution and colloidal solution:
S.NO.True solutionColloidal solution
1.It is a mixture of two or more substances in which the solute completely dissolves in the solvent. It is a heterogenous mixture of two or more substances in which the substance is evenly suspended in the other.
2. Size of particles will be less than 1 nm in diameter. The size range will be 1 – 1000 nm in diameter.
3.Homogenous Heterogenous
4.Undergo electrolysisUndergo cataphoresis
5.One phase systemTwo phase systems
6.Not visible under electron microscopeVisible under electron microscope
7.Colour of solution depends on the nature of soluble salt or ions.Colour of the solution depends on size of the colloidal particles.
8.Does not exhibit tyndall effect Exhibits tyndall effect
9.Particles will not show Brownian movementsParticles will show Brownian moments.
10.Example: sugar solution in waterExample: starch dissolved in water

Note: There are some similarities also like both are stable solutions, their particles are not visible by naked eyes, separation by filtration is not possible and will not sediment.
