Additional Information: The cerebrum is the major part of the brain located at the anterior part of the brain and considered as a part of the forebrain. It constitutes the fourth-fifth part of the brain and divided longitudinally into two halves as right and left cerebral hemispheres. These hemispheres are connected by myelinated nerve fiber corpus callosum. The outer portion of the cerebral hemisphere is the cerebral cortex which is made up of layers of neurons and it is referred to as grey matter because it appears grey. The surface of the cortex is folded with upward fold gyri and downward grooves sulci. Beneath grey matter, there is a large number of myelinated nerve fibers that appear opaque white and collectively called white matter. Cerebrum performs some voluntary movement and involuntary movement, control sensation like pain, touch, and temperature and is also responsible for complex functions like intersensory associations, memory, and communication.
The cerebellum is also known as the little brain which is a part of the Hindbrain. It is the second-largest brain consisting of two cerebellar hemispheres and a central vermis. It lies below the posterior portion of the central hemisphere and above the medulla. The cerebellum is branched and surrounded by a sheath of grey matter cerebellar cortex. The cerebellar cortex is flask-shaped with complex neurons called Purkinje cells. It controls muscular activities like running, talking, writing, and maintenance of posture.

Note: The cerebral hemisphere is divided by fissures which are also known as sulci. Central sulcus separate frontal and parietal lobe, lateral sulcus separate frontal and temporal lobe, parieto-occipital sulcus separate parietal and occipital lobe.
