Hint: Here in this question, we have to draw a line of symmetry for the given alphabetical letters. We have to draw an imaginary line which passes from the centre of each letter so that the line known as the line of symmetry should be divided into exactly half of the letter. That half letter is an exact reflection or mirror image of another half of the same letter.
Complete answer:
As we know the symmetry means made up of exactly similar parts facing each other or around an axis. The Line of symmetry is the line that passes through the centre of the object or any shape and it is considered as the imaginary or axis line of the object. The line symmetry is also called “Reflection symmetry”, one half of the object is the reflection of the other half of the same object. Reflection symmetry is sometimes called line symmetry or Mirror symmetry. The line of symmetry can be drawn in any direction.
Now consider a given question, draw a line of symmetry of following letters:
(i)
The Alphabetical letter C has one line of symmetry which passes horizontally it represented as:
(ii)
The Alphabetical letter H has two line of symmetry one passes horizontally and another one passes vertically it represented as:
(iii)
The Alphabetical letter U has one line of symmetry which passes vertically it represented as:
Note: Remember, for any kind of object, shapes, letters etc. the line of symmetry gives two identical halves. Like that in an English alphabet A-Z, letter A, B, C, D, E, K, M, T, U, V, W , Y have one line of symmetry whether its passe through horizontal or vertically, letter H, I, O, X have two or more line of symmetry and letter F, G, J, L, N, P, Q, R, S, Z has no line of symmetry.
