Hint: The electromagnetic force produces two similar phenomena: magnetism and electricity. Electricity is something that occurs when electric charges either remain in place or when they are travelling. The physical effect caused by a travelling electric charge is known as magnetism.

Complete answer:
Electricity is that kind of energy that is correlated with atomic particles such as protons and electrons. Electricity is caused by the negative and positive charges carried by the basic particles electrons and protons. All particles have charges that are equal, but they will be opposite in their signs. The electric fields are those fields which are formed around the particles that acquire some amount of electric charge.

Magnetism, on the other hand, is the energy that magnets produce as they draw or repel one another. The movement of electric charges causes magnetism. The magnetic field is the region surrounding an object that has been magnetized. It's made by shifting electric charges around some object. We will perform a common experiment that can prove that electricity or current produced by charges can create a magnetic field.

Steps of the experiment:
i. Arrange multiple compass needles that have magnetic properties, in a circle around a current-carrying conductor. Be sure to give the conductor a switch so that the current can be turned on and off when required to carry out the experiment. Note that initially the needles of every compass point towards the northern pole of the earth.
ii. Firstly when the switch is off, clearly no current will be flowing through the electric conductor, so the compass needle continues to point northward.
iii. Next turn on the switch of that conductor and let the electricity flow through that conductor. Now the needle of each compass tends to point to the direction which is in a tangential alignment with the circular form in which the compass is kept. That means that each needle is aligned perpendicular to the position where the compass is kept in the circle.

Inference of the experiment: The tangential alignment of the needles is caused due to the presence of a magnetic field when current flows in the conductor.

Note: Also we can use the right hand thumb rule in order to find out the direction of the magnetic field. The thumb denotes the direction of current and direction in which the fingers are wrapped show the direction of the field. If the electricity moves upward the field takes the anti-clockwise direction, but if electricity moves downward, the field is produced clockwise.
