Hint:First we need to know what we understand by unit of conversion. Unit of conversion is a multi-step process that involves multiplication or division of numerical factors by selecting a correct number of significant digits and rounding of digits. Unit is also known as the definite magnitude of a physical quantity.
Complete step by step answer:
Physical quantities can be measured by utilizing various units that depend upon the quantities that are given to us. For example weight of rice, sugars, pulses etc which can be calculated by using kilogram, gram, tones etc. Set of fundamental units is the unit of measurement of the physical quantity from which every other unit can be generated by a system of weights that is based on the principle that each and every quantity should have one unit whose multiples and submultiple are all derived by multiplying or dividing by power of ten. And this standard unit is called a metric system.
Volume is the measure of the three dimensional space that is occupied by matter or we can say that the space enclosed by a surface is measured in cubic units. Hence the Si unit of volume is cubic meter and it is a derived unit. Here liter is a special name for the cubic dement of the volume.
Note:Remember that there are three common units of volume conversion that are cubic centimeter, liters and gallon. Note the volumes of bigger figures are measured in terms of cubic meter and cubic kilometer while volumes of smaller figures are measured in terms of cubic millimeter and cubic centimeter.
