Aurangzeb's full name was Muhi-ud-din Mohammed Aurangzeb. He was Emperor Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal's third son. He grew up as a stern and devout youth, married to the Muslim orthodoxy of the day, and free of sensuality and drunkenness from the royal Mughal characteristics.
