The Aravalli range goes back to the time period when the Indian plate was separated from the Eurasian plate by an ocean.
One feature of the Aravalli range is: It has a very rich collection of medicinal plants such as amla,Moosli and Kadaya.the mountains stretches up to 1100 kilometres. Numerous peninsular rivers pass through the mountains like the Sabarmati, Luni, Sakhi and others. The area consists of large quantities of sand, stone and rose coloured quartzite. Mount Abu is the one hill station in Rajasthan. This hill station helps to escape the heat of Rajasthan. The Dilwara temple is located in Mount Abu which is a very popular pilgrimage for the Jains.
