Hint: Laser is an abbreviation for “light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation”. A laser pointer is a device with laser diode and power source emitting a very narrow and coherent laser beam of the light.
Complete solution:
A basic laser consists of the chamber known as the cavity that is intended to reflect waves of the infrared, visible or ultraviolet to strengthen each other. In the chamber there will be solids, liquids or gases.
The wavelengths of the output determine the choice of the cavity material.
At each end of the cavity mirrors are positioned one of the mirrors is totally reflective, not allowing them to pass through any of the energy.
The other mirror is partly reflective enabling 5% of the light to move through it.
Energy is injected from an external source into the cavity by a method known as pumping.
As the normal frequency of the atoms of the substance filling the cavity and magnetic field occurs within the laser cavity due to the pumping operation.
Between the mirrors the waves are mirrored back and front the cavity length is such that the reflected waves boost each other.
The electromagnetic waves emerge from the end of the cavity with the purity reflecting mirrors in phase with each other.
A continuous beam or a sequence of the brief intense pulses is the output. From the above description we can easily understand how laser pointer works.
The output of this laser is a coherent electromagnetic field.
Note:
In order to understand the working principle of the laser pointer first we saw the definition of laser pointer which states that A laser pointer is a device with laser diode and power source emitting a very narrow and coherent laser beam of the light.and then we saw working principle of the laser which clarifies the understanding that how laser pointer works.
