Complete answer:
Pronouns, verbs, adverbs and prepositions are parts of speech. Let us first understand the meaning of the given parts of speech-

Pronoun – It is a word that is used instead of a noun or a noun phrase. When we have to repeatedly refer to a noun, then instead of saying the name of that thing/person, again and again, we use a pronoun. For e.g., Ram is a good boy. He obeys everyone. There are 9 types of pronouns.

Verb - Verb is a word that tells about an action or the state of being. It is also known as the action word. The action can be physical, mental, continuous or in a state of rest. For e.g, She ran fast. The state of being is denoted by the ‘to be’ form of the verb. For e.g. - She is tall.

Adverb - An adverb is a word that describes/qualifies a verb, adjective or another adverb in a sentence. These words usually end with -ly. For e.g. He walked slowly.

Preposition - It is a word that is used before a noun to show direction, time, place, location etc. They tell the relationship between the words in a sentence. For e.g. The cat sat on the wall.

The word ‘ during’ is a preposition because when used with a noun it will tell the duration of occurrence of an event Also, it is never used alone i.e. it is always used before a noun. For e.g. We dozed off during the seminar.

Note: Preposition is a combination of two words pre+position, therefore as implied by its name it is placed before (pre) a noun/pronoun in the sentence. The sentence with a preposition will always have an object.
