Hint: The process of changing and setting the position of the lens of the eyes so that it can get a better view of the image or the object that is present in front of it. It changes according to the light present in the surrounding.

Complete step by step answer:
The accommodation of an eye is the change in the power of the lens to focus more on the abject and get a better and clear picture of the image or the object. It is a property of the eyes of the vertebrates. The power of the lens varies according to the distance of the object. This is caused because the ciliary ring will shorten due to contraction and then they move towards the equator of the lens causing accommodation in the eyes.
Eyes are the important sensory organs of all the living organisms that involve the sense of vision. Accommodation of the eye is the normal process that is a spontaneous and involuntary process. It varies as the far point and the near the point of the person’s eyesight varies. The far point is that point which is the longest distance from where the person can see a clear image while the near point is that point which is the shortest distance from where a person can see a clear image.
This property is due to the presence of the ciliary muscles in the eyes that help in the contraction of the muscles of the eyes. This property is generally found in the case of mammals, reptiles, and birds while it may be present or absent in the case of fishes and amphibians. Due to the decrease in the process of accommodation, there may be a rise in certain anomalies in the eyes that includes Cycloplegia, or Presbyopia.

Note:The accommodation of the eye was studied by Helmontz and he postulated it as a theory called Relaxation theory of Helmontz, which is also called the Capsular Theory. He stated in this theory that the ligaments present in the eye make the lens elastic due to which they stretch normally and get flattened due to the tension resulting in the accommodation.
