It was founded in 1976 and was stopped in 2011. It resumed its production again in 2014 and produces iron ore concentrates and iron oxide pellets. These pellets have been shipped to countries like Iran, Japan, China and Taiwan.
Note: The Digboi oilfield is the oldest onshore oilfield in India located in the Dibrugarh district of Assam. The iron and steel industry is called a heavy industry because of its raw materials such as iron ore, manganese, limestone. These raw materials are quite heavy.
