Hint: The heart is a complex muscle that pumps blood into the three circulatory system divisions: the coronary artery (heart-serving vessels), the pulmonary artery (heart and lungs) and the systemic artery (heart and lungs) (systems of the body).
Complete answer:
Three circuits are divided into the mammalian circulatory organ: the system circuit, the pulmonary circuit, and the coronary circuit. Blood is pumped from the veins of the systemic circuit to the right atrium of the heart, then to the right ventricle. Blood enters the pulmonary circuit and is oxygenated by the lungs.
Blood enters the heart through the left atrium from the pulmonary circuit. Blood re-enters the systemic circuit through the aorta from the left ventricle and is distributed to the rest of the body.
A-A is vena cava, as we can see in the figure, collecting blood from the parts of the body and moving towards the heart. So it contains deoxygenated blood. B-B is a pulmonary artery because it comes from the heart and goes to the lungs to oxygenate the blood. And it contains deoxygenated blood.C-C is a pulmonary vein because it comes from the lungs and into the heart.
As it comes from the lungs, it contains oxygenated blood. D-D is aorta because it comes from the heart and goes to different parts of the body. It will therefore contain oxygenated blood. Therefore P and Q = deoxygenated blood and S and R = oxygenated blood.
Thus the correct answer is option (B) i.e, P and Q=Deoxygenated R and S=Oxygenated
Note: The circulatory system is responsible for transporting nutrients and gasses such as oxygen to the body and metabolic waste products away from the body. The heart and lungs play an important role in the circulation and purification of blood throughout the body.
