Hint- Here, we will proceed by dividing the value of the earnings given in the problem with the value of the savings given in the problem in order to obtain the required ratio of earnings to savings.

Given, Earnings of Raj per month = Rs 25000
Savings of Raj per month = Rs 5000
Since, the ratio of earnings to savings can be easily obtained by dividing earnings of Raj per month with the savings of Raj per month.
i.e., $\dfrac{{{\text{Earnings}}}}{{{\text{Savings}}}} = \dfrac{{{\text{Earnings of Raj per month}}}}{{{\text{Savings of Raj per month}}}} = \dfrac{{25000}}{{5000}} = \dfrac{5}{1} = 5:1$
Therefore, the required ratio of earnings to savings is 5:1.

Note- In these types of problems, it is very necessary to make sure that the units of the parameters (whose ratio we are finding) is the same. As in case, the unit of earnings of Raj is in Rs per month which is the same as compared with the unit of savings of Raj.
